What is Pai Gow Poker?

Pai Gow Poker is basically two games of poker in one. After the ante, both player and dealer get 7 cards. You then have to pick 2 of these cards to split off, leaving you with two separate hands. The dealer does the same, and your hands are then compared.

The five card hands are assessed just like in poker, and whoever has the higher hand winds. The two card hand is ranked similarly, with pairs beating high cards. There is one big rule you have to follow though – the 5 card hand must always be a better poker hand than your 2 card split.
