Netbook computer manufacturer Acer just announced that they intend to ship all of their upcoming dual-core networks with two operating systems pre-installed. The machines will come with both Windows 7 and Android OS. However you look at it, this is big news for netbook gaming!
So far, Acer has released two dual OS nebooks: the Aspire One D250 and the Aspire One D260. Both systems prioritize Windows 7 as the main operating system, which is great for general computer use and for playing online casino games. But the addition of Android means faster internet, great multimedia content, and access to exclusive Android games. Combining Android with Windows 7 will give netbook gamers the best of both worlds.
Netbooks running only Android have been around for a while, but the limitations of the OS make them tough to use. The OS was designed for smartphone use, so using it to power a full computer is a bit tricky. Early machines had big problems running a simple mouse, since mouse support was not part of the original design. But Android is evolving, and these new machines are very slick.
No word yet on when the new dual-OS Acer netbooks will start shipping.
