Apple doesn't do netbooks. Steve Jobs told us so back in January, calling netbooks "slow, cheap laptops". Besides, they have the iPad, they don't need a netbook line.
But now, there are rumors floating around about Apple planning a thinner, smaller, and lighter than ever version of the MacBook Air, and some are calling Apple's bluff and saying "yes, this new device in fact a netbook computer".
The new MacBook Air looks like it will come with a netbook-sized 11.6" screen, and a much friendlier price tag than the current models. It will still cost around $1000, which is quite a lot more than the average Windows netbook, but that's the price you pay for the Apple "cool factor".
The good news for netbook gamers is that the new MacBook Air will have no problem running no download casinos. Since netbook casinos are all web-based, they will run on any computer with an internet connection, regardless of what casino software is being used.
If the rumors are true, then the new and improved MacBook Air may be as close as we ever come to seeing an Apple netbook.
