CES 2026: Samsung Sliding PC 7 Series Netbook

Samsung introduced the new Sliding PC 7 Series Netbook during the Consumer Electronics Show 2011 (CES 2011) at the Venetian Hotel and Casino. The Sliding PC 7 device is an innovative creature which isn't sure whether to be a netbook computer to be a tablet computer. Or perhaps, this is more a point of confusion (or delight) for the gambler who must choose how he wishes to use the device when network gaming.
The Sliding PC 7 netbook weighs 2.1 pounds, making it half a pound heavier than an Apple iPad. Some say that makes it a little too heavy for one-handed use, though stronger owners are less likely to notice the difference. With a 10 inch 1366 x 768 multitouch display screen, it has a better screen than the iPad which only has a 9.7 inch 1024 x 768 display. Two months ago, we reported the Dell Inspiron Duo, a netbook-tablet hybrid that showed a lot of potential for online casino gambling. The device has finally hit the shelves, just in time for the holidays, and the reviews that are coming out are very positive indeed.
The device is half netbook, half tablet. Its multi-touch display swivels around a hinge, and can used normally in netbook mode, or reversed for tablet mode. At 10 inches it's quite big for a netbook, but just right for a tablet. Its dual-core 1.5GHz Intel Atom processor has been used in netbooks for a while, but this is the first tablet device to include it.
The Dell Inspiron Duo is a casino gambler's dream come true. It combines the business-ready power of a netbook with the playful touch screen interface of a netbook. Use it in netbook mode to take notes at your next business meeting, then switch to tablet mode for some no download slot action!
The only thing worth worrying about is the computer's measly 4 hour battery life. For a netbook, this is not very good at all. Apple doesn't do netbooks. Steve Jobs told us so back in January, calling netbooks "slow, cheap laptops". Besides, they have the iPad, they don't need a netbook line.
But now, there are rumors floating around about Apple planning a thinner, smaller, and lighter than ever version of the MacBook Air, and some are calling Apple's bluff and saying "yes, this new device in fact a netbook computer".
The new MacBook Air looks like it will come with a netbook-sized 11.6" screen, and a much friendlier price tag than the current models. It will still cost around $1000, which is quite a lot more than the average Windows netbook, but that's the price you pay for the Apple "cool factor".
The good news for netbook gamers is that the new MacBook Air will have no problem running no download casinos. Since netbook casinos are all web-based, they will run on any computer with an internet connection, regardless of what casino software is being used.
If the rumors are true, then the new and improved MacBook Air may be as close as we ever come to seeing an Apple netbook.
